Annexure No.IIMOTILAL NEHRU COLLEGE ; BENITO JUAREZ MARG ; NEW DELHI-2124.07.2009 NOTICE
The College requires Vice Principal for 2 years wef 1.9.2009, in the light of the resolution of the Governing Body under item No 14. taken in its meeting held 15.12.1992 which reads as “ The Governing Body deliberated on the Note of Dr. A.M. Singhvi regarding appointment of Vice Principal. The Governing Body approved in “Principle of rotation” of Vice Principal for a period of two years amongst eligible teachers on the recommendations of the Principal”. The said period can be extendable with permission of the Governing Body. The colleagues who wish and are eligible as per the following criteria may show their wish in writing to the undersigned directly or to the Sr.P.A. latest by 30th July, 2009 till 1:00p.m.. The University calendar-2004 Page No.413 Ordinance –XVIII, clause-4 (4) states “ If the Governing Body wish to appoint a Vice-Principal, it should do so with the prior approval of the University. The appointment of the Vice Principal shall be made from among the Readers in the College who fulfil the qualifications for the post of Principal. The appointment of such Vice-Principal shall require the approval of the University.” “In case of a casual vacancy in the office of the Principal, the Vice-Principal, if any, shall until the appointment of the Principal, act as the Principal. In case there is no Vice-Principal, the senior most teacher shall act as Principal. The teacher so to act as Principal shall fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements for appointment as Principal of the College. Such temporary arrangements shall be made ordinarily for a period not exceeding six months and shall require the prior approval of the University. Qualification of the Principal:
Note: the minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon for the post of Principal for existing teachers who are already in the University system. But in no case would this be less than 50%. However, these marks should be insisted for those entering the system from outside. If the arrangement is for less than one month, the Vice Principal shall not get any additional allowance. If the arrangement exceeds one month but is less than six months, the Vice Principal shall be eligible for 10% of the minimum of the basic pay of the post of Principal as “Additional Charge Allowance” Further, if the arrangement exceeds six months, the Vice Principal shall be designated as “Officiating Principal” and shall be eligible for the scale of pay of the post of Principal for the duration of the arrangement.” Further, in the absence of the Principal i.e. if he is on leave for short period or pre-occupied in/outtside the college with official engagements, the Vice Principal in the college will instantly look after the work of the Principal. It is desirable, that the Vice Principal will assist the Principal, particularly, in ensuring that the classes are held regularly, by taking routine rounds and also in maintaining the discipline in the college besides other works. In such cases, as desired, he/she may take any action as deemed fit, as per University rules. The Vice Principal will be expected to make himself available during the office hours of the college. Further, he/she will also be expected to supervise the Examinations, Discipline, Admissions and Placement cell in particular. Apart from the other assigned duties from time to time, he/she will also hold the post of Public Information Officer of the college. A separate room for the office will be provided to the Vice Principal. The Vice Principal will handle independently work of admissions, Identity Cards, Examinations Forms, Enrolment Forms and leave of the Staff. An allowance of Rs.450/- will be paid as Vice Principal’s allowance to the incumbent as per rules.
